The Fog

The Fog: Blakes Gold Edition arrived from Boomkat a few days ago and I confess, it's a thing of beauty.

Words from Bookat:
**One off limited edition repress on double gold 180gm vinyl, in a super heavyweight gatefold casebound tip on sleeve** Death Waltz sashay forth with this massively anticipated remastered reissue of John Carpenter's seminal soundtrack to his horror classic, 'The Fog' (1980). One disc features the original score composed by John Carpenter, and performed by the director/musician with The Bowling Green-Warren County Chamber Orchestra; a bonus second disc includes all of the original movie cues which have never been made available on vinyl before. Together with Dinos Chapman's chilling cover image - "I decided to do exactly what K.A.B. radio warned me against: I looked deep into the fog on Antonio Bay and this image is what I saw" - it amounts to a genuine fantasy package for even the most hardened horror fanatic.

Received my pocket sized copy of the Planarch Codex in the post today. Looking forward to weaving it into our Dungeon World games.

Tokyo Morvélo CC

Joined the Tokyo Morvélo CC recently. £15 for annual membership and they give you a free cycle cap for joining! For anyone who's interested, here's a little bit of blurb from their site:

Tokyo Morvélo CC is a cycle club primarily aimed at riders and racers across road, track and cyclocross disciplines but we have a wide-ranging interest across all forms of cycling. We would like to welcome riders of any age and gender, from novice through to expert. We want to build a reputation for being an enthusiastic, friendly and inclusive club and for being an invaluable resource for anyone who wants to take a step up in their cycling.

We believe in power in numbers – so whether it’s simply joining in with organised group rides to meet up with like-minded people, gearing up on your existing training with other motivated riders or if you have aspirations to race and compete and want to draw on the experience of others within the club, you’ll find a home here. Tokyo Morvélo CC will open the door to new possibilities and experiences and give you the confidence you need to get you on the right track.

We have a huge list of contacts and resources to draw on that will enable us to present a varied and interesting events calendar. So if you want to break out the track bike we will cater for that with sociable fixed gear rides in and around the city. If road is your passion then we’ll show you where to go with organised club rides as well as trips and excursions to places you may never get to go to without the support and expertise of a club. At the same time, we will actively welcome ideas and contributions from our members around the organisation of rides, races and events – the success of Tokyo Morvélo CC will depend on our members sharing information and letting others know about the rides and events we are involved in.

Shai-Hulud

Picked this up on Discogs the other day. I've had this album on CD for years, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get it on vinyl.

New Purchases

A few new purchases from my annual holiday to Japan. Not strictly necessary, but I like to start modding anything I buy.

Board game addiction

Picked up Upon a Salty Ocean and the Descartes version of the Dune board game at Conception Con this year. I had my eye on CO2, but two new games per Con is my limit.
